UAVA – United Against Violence and Abuse are a consortium of three local specialist providers of domestic abuse and sexual violence services; Women’s Aid Leicestershire Ltd, FreeVA and Living Without Abuse.
I was hired by Seed Creativity to develop a logo and to design and build their website.
During the design process, we explored a lot of options along the line of people coming together in support. We decided to go with the people and the arch to represent shelter and protection.
The website was built on the WordPress platform. I developed a custom built, fully responsive template for the client which enabled them to have full control and access to their content and page structure.
The website was designed with an easy to use QUICK EXIT button that always appears in the header. This enables vulnerable users to quickly leave the website quickly if their abuser happens to walk in. The button directs them to a random website based on a list populated by UAVA of safe, every-day sites.
